I have just watched the BBC programme today and was interested to find there is actually a club called 'Squirrel Research Group'. Sarah Squirell was my 4th great grandmother born in 1758 in Hitcham, Suffolk. She married John Steff in 1799. Other than that I have absolutely no information and would very much appreciate any help in finding further Squirell ancestors.
Many thanks

Hello, I have been going through my late father's papers and discovered my great grandfather's name, James Alma Nunn (ID - F6300 group sheet). Out of curiosity I googled his name and from your site I have discovered that his mother, Laura Harriet Eva Feltham (A26866) was the daughter of William Feltham and Maria Squirrell (F1749). If you would like to know where the line went from my grandmother Alice Maria Nunn A26886 my email address is [email protected]. Thank you for the wonderful research.

My Great Grandmother was Emma Charlotte White (b. 07/05/1876 Stutton d. 15/01/1954 Reading), sister of Arthur Sidney Beamont White (b. 20/08/1874 Stutton d. 12/01/1962 Stutton). There was also another sister called Alice Maud Mary White (b. 09/04/1878 Stutton d. Jun 1906 Samford). Emma married William Arnold (b. Jun 1878 Alton, Hants d. 25/12/1950 Reading) 09/06/1902 Samford. I have a photo of Emma and William. Please contact me if you would like further details.

I am searching for information on Susannah
Scurrel, b 1844, Thorrington, Essex, married in 1844 to John Last, b 1822, Elmstead, Essex. Her daughter, Lucy Maria, b 1845, Brightlingsea, was my Great-Great- Grandmother. I believe John Last was a mariner. I have information to share on the descendents, but find nothing for Susannah prior to her marriage.

I am only starting out in the search for Ancestors, so am hopeful you got further than me and can give me some info.

Hello my parents heard of this site on heir hunters. We are searching for a violet squirrel who is my grandmother. She had my mother on the 22nd of April 1967 and gave her up for adoption in Redhill surry if any one could help me I would be extremely grateful thank you for your help

I also found out about this group whilst watching Heir Hunters yesterday morning. I am descended from John Squirrell born about 1797 Ipswich who married Mary Curtis from Otley. They are my 3x great grandparents. I am descended from their daughter Sarah Ann who married William Brooks in Tacket St Meeting House, Ipswich in 1854. I haven't found John Squirrell's birth or Mary Curtis's birth as yet. I would be pleased to hear from any one interested.
Regards,
Chris

In your research do you include the name 'Squirhill' ? I have Richard Squirhill who married into my family in 1841, in London, although not a direct ancestor. Could send a small tree if you wish. Rosalind

I have just been watching heir hunters on TV, researching a David Squirrell. It was stated that the surname was most common in the Suffolk/Essex border area which is where my uncle, a William John Squirrell originally came from and I wondered if he was part of the family you are researching. He was married to Cissie (Beatrice) Archer and had a son Phillip (adopted into the family) who took the surname Squirrell. Phillip is married to Diane and they have two children, Kirsten and Christopher, they live at Martlesham, Ipswich. My Uncle Bill and Aunt Cissie (as she was known by family as her elder brother couldn't say Beatrice when he was little and called her sister, sis-sis hence Cissie) ran a cafe for many years near the back of the Abbey Gardens in Mustow Street, Bury St Edmunds where I and my brothers helped out esp. when my Aunt became ill.
